G.A.S (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)

It's been a long time coming but I gave in and upgraded my photography equipment. I have been researching, wanting, desiring a new camera to add to my bag and I finally made the purchase. Living in CA, I can no longer waltz into my all time favorite store in NYC, B & H Photo but ordering on-line is almost as good. I've been shooting with my workhorse, the Nikon D700 for years and it has not let me down. I love that camera and will keep it as my back-up camera. I was debating on sticking with the standard DSLR or making the switch to mirrorless and mirrorless won out. I just purchased the Nikon Z6 body and the ultra wide angle 14-30 mm f4 lens. I have never photographed with a lens this wide but I also haven't needed to. With real estate photography, capturing wide angle views are all important and I just couldn't capture those with my current selection of glass. I am super excited and am looking forward to a smaller camera body, I have small hands and camera size really makes a difference. The body is smaller and lighter because there are no mirrors involved, light goes directly into the image sensor. There are pros and cons with mirrorless cameras but I think I made the right decision. My gear arrives in a few days and I will be able to test it out at South Coast Winery!!
